Virgin Australia

Virgin Australia Airlines, the largest airline in Australia to bear the Virgin brand, ranks as the second-largest airline in the country following Qantas Airways.

The airline, with its headquarters situated in South Brisbane, was co-founded by Richard Branson, the British businessman and Virgin Group founder, along with former CEO Brett Godfrey.

Originally named Virgin Blue, the airline was established in November 1999 with a meager fleet of two aircraft operating on a solitary route. However, the collapse of Ansett Australia in September 2001 swiftly propelled Virgin Blue to the position of Australia's second major airline.

Over time, the airline has expanded its operations to encompass 29 cities across Australia, utilizing hubs in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. Its fleet primarily consists of narrow-body Boeing aircraft, complemented by Airbus and Boeing widebody jets.
