Passengers traveling with KLM can Check-in conveniently with the check-in
options provided as below:
Online Check-in via KLM.com
You can check in online via KLM.com starting from 30 hours before departure (24
hours before for flights to or from the United States). Here's how:
1. Click on the check-in button and follow the instructions.
2. Choose your seat, special meals, extra comfort, or extra baggage.
3. Obtain your valid electronic boarding pass.
4. If necessary, you can print your boarding pass at a self-service kiosk or
check-in desk at the airport.
5. In some cases, a boarding pass may not be available online. In such
instances, you need to print your check-in confirmation and exchange it for a
boarding pass at the airport.
Note: Online check-in may not be available under certain circumstances. You will
need to check in at the airport's check-in desk in the following situations:
- If your airport does not offer online check-in or self-service kiosks.
- If you have requested assistance but are not accompanied by someone aged 15
years or older who is listed on the same reservation.
- If you have booked a KLM ticket that includes a train ride from Brussels South
Railway Station or Antwerp Central Station to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Online Check-in via the KLM App
You can also check in online using the KLM App, available from 30 hours before
departure (24 hours before for flights to or from the United States). Follow
these steps:
1. Tap on the check-in button and log in.
2. Select your seat, special meals, extra comfort, or extra baggage.
3. Obtain your valid electronic boarding pass.
4. Receive notifications for delays, gate changes, and flight information.
5. Check your Flying Blue status.
Just like with online check-in via KLM.com, there are situations where online
check-in is not possible, and you'll need to check in at the airport's check-in
desk:
- If your airport does not offer online check-in or self-service kiosks.
- If you have requested assistance but are not accompanied by someone aged 15
years or older who is listed on the same reservation.
- If you are traveling by train to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol from Brussels
South Railway Station or Antwerp Central Station.
Check-in at the Airport - Self-service Kiosk
You can check in at the self-service kiosk available at Schiphol on the day of
departure, and at other airports at least two hours before departure. Here's
what to do:
1. Simply insert your passport, frequent-flyer card, or booking code into the
kiosk.
2. Choose your seat, special meals, extra comfort, or extra baggage.
3. Pay for any optional upgrades using your credit card.
4. Let the kiosk print your boarding pass.
Check-in at the Airport - Check-in Desk
For European flights, you can check in at the airport check-in desk between 2
hours and 40 minutes before departure. For Intercontinental flights, check-in is
available between 3 hours and 60 minutes before departure.
In certain cases, checking in at the airport's check-in desk is the only option.
Please note the following circumstances where you will need to check in at the
service desk:
- If your airport does not offer online check-in or self-service kiosks.
- If you have requested assistance but are not accompanied by someone aged 15
years or older who is listed on the same reservation.
- If you are traveling by train to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol from Brussels
South Railway Station or Antwerp Central Station.
- If you are traveling with pets, it is recommended to arrive at the check-in
desk 3 hours before departure, with all necessary forms filled out.
Check-in at the Airport - SkyPriority
For European flights, SkyPriority check
-in is available between 2 hours and 40 minutes before departure. For
Intercontinental flights, it is available between 3 hours and 1 hour before
departure.
If you qualify for the SkyPriority service as indicated on your boarding pass,
you can enjoy a quick check-in at the airport. Here's what to do:
- SkyPriority is for First and Business Class passengers, Flying Blue Gold and
Platinum members, and SkyTeam Elite Plus members.
- Simply follow the red SkyPriority signs or use the SkyPriority Finder.
- Enjoy the swift check-in process at the dedicated SkyPriority counter.
When to Check-in and Drop-off Your Baggage
To ensure a stress-free travel experience, it's important to arrive at the
airport on time. Consider the following:
- Familiarize yourself with the check-in and baggage drop-off deadlines in
advance.
- Check the airport monitors for the latest information on check-in desks and
baggage drop-off points.
- Keep your baggage tags safe until you collect your bags at your destination.
- If you have your boarding pass and only have hand baggage, you can proceed
directly to the security check without visiting the check-in or baggage drop-off
desk.
Printing Your Boarding Pass
If you need to print your boarding pass, you have several options:
- Print it at the airport using a self-service kiosk.
- Print it at the airport's check-in desk.
- Print it at home.
Note: Some US airports may not accept home-printed boarding passes. In such
cases, you will need to check in at a self-service kiosk or a check-in desk at
the airport.
