KLM Royal Dutch Airlines offers flexible ticket cancellation and refund options,
depending on the fare type, route, and reason for cancellation. Passengers can
cancel bookings online through the KLM website, via the mobile app, or by
contacting KLM customer service or the travel agency where the ticket was
purchased.
Refund eligibility is determined by the fare conditions. Refundable fares allow
cancellation with little or no penalty, while non-refundable fares may only
qualify for a refund of government taxes and fees. In special situations, such
as medical emergencies or government-imposed travel restrictions, KLM may
provide passengers with travel credits or partial refunds instead of a full
monetary refund.
For tickets purchased directly from KLM, refund requests can be submitted
through the “My Trip” section on the website. Refunds are usually processed
within 7 to 20 business days, depending on the original form of payment. Tickets
booked via third-party travel agencies must be refunded through the issuing
agency.
Passengers are advised to review the fare rules before proceeding with
cancellation. In the event of a KLM-initiated disruption, such as a flight
cancellation or major schedule change, travelers are entitled to a full refund
or complimentary rebooking.
Additionally, KLM provides a 24-hour cooling-off period for bookings made
online, allowing passengers to cancel within 24 hours of purchase for a full
refund.
