Refund eligibility depends on the fare conditions. Fully flexible fares allow
cancellation with minimal or no penalties, while non-refundable fares may only
allow refunds of certain government taxes or fees. In exceptional circumstances,
such as medical emergencies or government-imposed travel restrictions, Qantas
may offer refunds or travel credits instead of cash.
For tickets booked directly with Qantas, refund requests can be made online
through the “Manage Booking” tool. Refunds are usually processed within 7 to 21
business days, depending on the original payment method. Tickets purchased
through third-party agents must be refunded through those agencies.
Passengers are advised to review the fare rules before canceling. If Qantas
cancels or significantly changes a flight, travelers are entitled to a full
refund or complimentary rebooking.
Qantas also offers a 24-hour risk-free cancellation policy on eligible bookings,
allowing passengers to cancel within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund.
