Delta Air Lines provides Unaccompanied Minor Services for young children
traveling without a parent or legal guardian on all its flights, unless
otherwise specified.
Here are the key details regarding unaccompanied minor services:
- Unaccompanied service is mandatory for children aged 5-14 years old who are
not traveling with an adult at least 18 years old or their parent/legal
guardian.
- Children aged 5-7 years are only allowed to fly on nonstop flights.
- Children aged 8-14 years can fly on nonstop or connecting flights but are
limited to connecting with Delta, Delta Connection (excluding AA Eagle), KLM,
and Air France flights.
- Children aged 15-17 are not required to have unaccompanied service, but Delta
can provide it upon request.
- Unaccompanied children cannot be booked on the last connecting flight of the
evening to avoid the need for an overnight stay. If you have questions about
connecting flights, contact Reservation Sales before booking on delta.com.
- Unaccompanied minors are not permitted on Red Eye flights (those departing
between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am), with the following exceptions: flights to or from
Alaska or Hawaii, international flights, domestic short-haul flights (2 hours or
less, nonstop), and markets with only one connection and it's the last flight of
the day.
- A one-way fee of $150 per child is due at check-in. If up to four children are
traveling together, only one $150 fee will be charged.
- Airlines may request documented proof of a child's age.
It's important to note that Delta Air Lines's unaccompanied minor service may have
different requirements or restrictions depending on the specific route or
destination. Therefore, it's best to contact Delta Air Lines
customer service team directly for more
information about their unaccompanied minor policy.
