canceled online through the British Airways website, via the mobile app, or by
contacting customer service or the travel agency where the ticket was purchased.
Refund eligibility is determined by the fare conditions. Flexible or fully
refundable fares allow cancellation with minimal or no penalty. Non-refundable
fares generally do not qualify for a cash refund but may allow reimbursement of
government taxes and charges. In special situations, such as medical emergencies
or government-imposed travel restrictions, British Airways may provide refunds
or travel vouchers.
For tickets booked directly with British Airways, refund requests can be
submitted through the “Manage My Booking” tool. Refunds are typically processed
within 7 to 21 business days, depending on the original payment method. Tickets
purchased through third-party travel agents must be refunded through those
agencies.
Passengers should carefully review the fare rules before canceling. In the event
of a British Airways-initiated cancellation or disruption, travelers are
entitled to a full refund or complimentary rebooking.
British Airways also offers a 24-hour cooling-off period on certain routes,
allowing passengers to cancel within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund.
