AirAsia Unaccompanied Minor Policy
Home » Major Airlines » AirAsia » Unaccompanied Minor Policy
Children aged below 12 on the day of departure are not allowed to travel alone
on AirAsia flights. They must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18
years old or above.
The accompanying adult should be seated next to the child during the flight.
This policy ensures the safety and well-being of young passengers throughout
their journey.
Young Passengers Travelling Alone (YPTA)
Children between the age of 12 to below 16 years old on the day of departure are
considered as Young Passengers Travelling Alone (YPTA).
YPTA will be accepted for carriage only after the parents or guardian have
signed AirAsia Release and Indemnity Form for Acceptance of YPTA (available at
the check-in counter).
Parents or guardian must remain at the airport until the flight has departed.
This is to ensure that the YPTA is not left unattended in case of flight delays
or cancellations. Pre-boarding or meet-and-assist service will be provided.
Guests between the age of 16 to 17 years old on the day of departure may travel
without completing any forms and will be treated as adults. However, they cannot
accompany a child under 12 years old.
It's important to note that the specific policies and requirements for
unaccompanied minors can vary among airlines and may be subject to change. If
you have any specific questions or need further clarification regarding
AirAsia's unaccompanied minor policy, it is recommended to contact their
customer service team directly or check on
their official website for the most up-to-date information.
