Children traveling without a parent or legal guardian, known as Unaccompanied Minors, receive special care and precautions to ensure their safety.

The Unaccompanied Minor service can be purchased for children traveling on non-stop flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, or Air Canada Express flights operated by Jazz, Sky Regional, Air Georgian GX (Flight series 7350-7499), or Exploits Valley Air 8K (Flight series 7615-7649).

Please note that the Unaccompanied Minor service cannot be purchased for connecting flights or codeshare flights.

Age restrictions for the Unaccompanied Minor service are as follows:

- Mandatory for children aged 8 to 11 traveling alone.
- Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a passenger aged 16 or older during travel.
- The accompanying adult must occupy a seat in the same cabin and be seated adjacent to the young child.
- The Unaccompanied Minor service is optional for youth aged 12 to 17 traveling alone.
- Only adult passengers aged 16 or older may act as accompanying adults for minors under the age of 12.

Fees and meals associated with the Unaccompanied Minor service include:

- A service fee of $100 - $118.00 CAD/USD per child per flight applies, regardless of the fare selected.
- If an unaccompanied minor aged 8 to 17 is traveling on a flight that offers only Air Canada Bistro service, the cost of a meal or hot snack is included in the service fee charged for their special care.
- Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages are available on all flights, and complimentary meal service is provided for passengers traveling in North America and Caribbean Business Class and International Business Class, as well as International Economy Class (excluding flights to/from Sun and Caribbean locations, which offer Air Canada Bistro service).
