cancellation. Bookings can be canceled online through the Air Canada website,
via the mobile app, or by contacting Air Canada customer service or the travel
agency where the ticket was purchased.
Refund eligibility is based on the fare rules. Refundable fares allow
cancellations with minimal or no penalty, while non-refundable fares may only
qualify for a refund of certain taxes or fees. In exceptional circumstances,
such as medical emergencies or government travel restrictions, passengers may be
offered travel credits or partial refunds instead of full reimbursement.
For tickets purchased directly from Air Canada, refund requests can be submitted
online through the “My Bookings” or “Request a Refund” tool. Refunds are usually
processed within 7 to 20 business days, depending on the original payment
method. Tickets booked through third-party travel agencies must be refunded
through the issuing agency.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to review the fare conditions before
proceeding with cancellation. If Air Canada cancels a flight or makes
significant schedule changes, travelers are entitled to a full refund or
complimentary rebooking.
Additionally, Air Canada offers a 24-hour flexible cancellation policy, allowing
passengers to cancel within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund, regardless
of fare type.
